This position will be responsible for providing administrative and legal support pertaining to various litigation law matters in our fast-paced office environment. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded, organized individual, committed to excellence, and dedicated to lifelong continuing professional development.

The main responsibilities for this role will include:
• Supporting lawyers by assembling and organizing client case information;
• Preparing necessary court forms for filing with the court;
• Preparing draft correspondence pertaining to various litigation matters for review, approval, and use by lawyers;
• Assisting in taking notes during client meetings;
• Serve as a point of contact for clients by providing ongoing case updates;
• Monitoring court required deadlines; and,
• Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
• Law Clerk Diploma or Paralegal Diploma;
• Minimum two (2) years’ litigation experience;
• In depth knowledge of Small Claims Court and Superior Court Procedures;
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task;
• Team Player
• Exceptional attention to detail; and,
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in litigation matters at all levels of Court
  • Proven client management skills

  • Previous financial and business experience considered an asset

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carriage of and responsibility for managing civil litigation files, with a focus on commercial litigation;
  • Appearing independently on matters before all levels of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including Appeals and Small Claims Court and various administrative tribunals.
