We are currently seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer to join our growing Civil Litigation Department on a full-time basis. Working primarily out of our London office, this position will focusmainly on Franchise Litigation, Construction Law, Employment Law and Corporate disputes.

We are looking for a candidate who is motivated to be in control of their own legal career path. Equity partnership shall be offered after you successfully complete your first year. You will have worked hard,
learned a tremendous amount, been very well compensated, and have earned your partnership privileges. You will thereafter be expected to pass on your knowledge, skill and experience as a Partner to your own Junior Associate Lawyer.

The main responsibilities for this role will include:

● Carriage of/responsibility for managing civil litigation files, with a focus on commercial litigation
● Appearing on matters before all levels of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including appeals
● Participation at promotional events and branding endeavours
● Community involvement (eg. Board membership for a charitable/non-profit organization)

The main responsibilities for this role will include:

● Excellent academic credentials
● Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in litigation matters at all levels of Court
● Proven problem-solver with exceptional client management skills
● Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills
● Team-player who enjoys working among a diverse group of professionals
● Valid Ontario driver’s licence, with regular access to a vehicle

Remuneration: Base Salary up to $129,000.00 plus quarterly bonus

Accordingly, you have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and experience managing interactions with a diverse clientele in a demanding and fast-paced corporate environment.

In this key role, you also provide critical administrative support to internal departments, and must be flexible and adaptable in order to meet multiple deadlines and manage competing priorities. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to successfully cultivate relationships with colleagues and suppliers are outstanding. You are an independent and resourceful problem solver and a team player committed to making a positive contribution to our firm.

Specific Requirements:

  •  Minimum two (2) years reception/administrative experience
  • 35 hours per week
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience managing multi-line call intake systems
  • Familiarity with PC Law is an asset
