The main responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Supporting lawyers by assembling and organizing client case information;
  • Preparing necessary Court forms and documents to be filed with the Court;
  • Preparing draft correspondence pertaining to various litigation matters for review, approval, and use by lawyers;
  • Utilizing accurate bring forward systems on an ongoing basis;
  • Assisting in taking notes during client meetings;
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients by providing ongoing case updates;
  • Monitoring Court required deadlines; and,
  • Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Law Clerk Diploma or Paralegal Diploma;
  • Minimum two (2) years of recent litigation experience;
  • In depth knowledge of Small Claims Court and Superior Court Procedures;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task;
  • Team Player;
  • Able to take initiative and to work independently;
  • Exceptional attention to detail; and,
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
