Salary: $42,000 (may increase commensurate with experience & proficiency), plus bonus and full benefits

Refcio & Associates is a full-service boutique law firm with a head office in London and satellite offices located in Burlington and Toronto. The ideal applicant will be responsible for providing administrative and legal support pertaining to residential and commercial real estate law matters in our fast-paced office environment.

The main responsibilities for this role will include:

  • handling purchases and sales of various types of properties;
  • reviewing agreements,
  • conducting off-title enquiries and title searches,
  • drafting closing documents, and prepare and register electronic documents etc.;
  • communicating effectively with clients, financial institutions, title insurance companies, land registry offices, municipalities and third parties;
  • preparing emails, correspondence, authorizations and directions and various other documentation;
  • handling all aspects of real estate transactions from beginning to end.
  • Supporting lawyers by assembling and organizing client file information;
  • Serving as a point of contact for clients by providing ongoing file updates;
  • Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Law Clerk Diploma or Paralegal Diploma;
  • Minimum two (2) years of recent real estate experience;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently in an established fast-paced, high-volume practice;
  • Be a Team Player and able to take initiative;
  • Exceptional attention to detail; and,
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.

  • Proven client management skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills

  • Previous financial and business experience considered an asset

 

The main responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Carriage of and responsibility for managing corporate law files, with a focus on working with start-ups in all industries, but especially technology, construction and franchising, while also managing and providing corporate legal advice to established businesses;
  • Completing residential and commercial real estate transactions including purchase, sale and refinancing transactions in an established, high-volume practice;
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence with access to a vehicle
  • Representing the Firm visibly in the community; participation in local charitable community activities which the Firm supports
